What are your thoughts on Karl Marx's lesser known work: "On the Jewish Question?" In this book, Marx calls Jews "hucksters" and complains that "even Christians are becoming like Jews." This work was distributed/read in Germany in the late 1800s/early 1900s and is considered by some to have contributed to the anti-semitic sentiments which later became Nazism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Jewish_Question Is it possible that Marx not only inspired tens of millions of deaths under Mao and Stalin, but also contributed to the racism which lead to the killing of Jews during WWII?

As to your contention that Marx was responsible (in a little read pamphlet) for the wide spread antisemitism of the German people which was rife well before he was born, I think it completely untrue.
My feeling run towards: For sociologist Robert Fine (2006)[28] Bauer's essay “echoed the generally prejudicial representation of the Jew as ‘merchant’ and ‘moneyman’”, whereas “Marx’s aim was to defend the right of Jews to full civil and political emancipation (that is, to equal civil and political rights) alongside all other German citizens”. Fine argues that “(t)he line of attack Marx adopts is not to contrast Bauer’s crude stereotype of the Jews to the actual situation of Jews in Germany”, but “to reveal that Bauer has no inkling of the nature of modern democracy”.

Others argue that that On the Jewish Question is primarily a critique of liberal rights, rather than a criticism of Judaism, and that apparently anti-Semitic passages should be read in that context.[27]
David McLellan, however, has argued that "On the Jewish Question" must be understood in terms of Marx's debates with Bruno Bauer over the nature of political emancipation in Germany. According to McLellan, Marx used the word "Judentum" in its colloquial sense of "commerce" to argue that Germans suffer, and must be emancipated from, capitalism. The second half of Marx's essay, McLellan concludes, should be read as "an extended pun at Bauer’s expense."[23].
My favorite part of "SICKO" was watching a plump Michael Moore zoom down to Cuba in a cushioned speed boat while capsizing Cubans in small makeshift rafts who were desperately trying to make their way in the opposite direction.
